An ending helps the practice stay contained
A session should have somewhere to finish. After reflection, thank the connection in words that fit your practice, close the journal and put your tools away. Then return to something ordinary rather than immediately searching for another sign.
Some people call this grounding. Here, it means bringing your attention back to your surroundings and daily routine. You do not need to turn it into a complicated energy procedure.
Use a small physical transition
Stand up, stretch comfortably, get a drink or tidy the space. Notice where you are and what you are doing next. For example, after an evening session, you might wash your cup and prepare for bed instead of spending an hour checking forums.
- Write the last observation.
- State that the session is complete.
- Put away the materials.
- Move to an ordinary activity.
Keep your boundaries visible
If a session leaves you unsettled, shorten the next one or pause for a while. There is no need to push through simply to prove dedication. A practice that has clear beginnings and endings is easier to keep alongside work, sleep and relationships.
